SMB Bangor #25: I don’t always speak at SMBBGR…

Posted on July 1, 2013

Once you’ve started your social media presence, the first question many people have is how to build your audience. What should you post and when should you post it? How do you create shareable content that will lead to more likes and follows? And how do you keep people interested in your brand?

For our July breakfast, we’ll welcome Ryan Gavin from Maine Memes (among other online properties). He’ll run through what he’s done to ensure that Maine Memes posts stay showing in your online feeds as well as offer some insight into what’s worked (and what hasn’t) as the brand has grown to over 40,000 likes on Facebook.

Ryan Gavin is a Maine-based media professional. Born in Portland, raised in Biddeford and living in Bangor, Ryan is the Executive Director of WildbrookMedia, the production organization for Maine Memes, Radio207 Online, and several radio shows on WMEB-FM in Orono. Ryan is also the Media Director for the American Legion’s Dirigo Boys State program, and is politically active in state and federal politics. He served two terms on the Biddeford School Committee before running for Mayor in 2011, and is currently studying radio broadcasting and media at the New England School of Communications, where he is on staff at WHSN-FM.
